I've resolutely kept it the wardrobe since buying in October, but now they're selling even cheaper in the shops and it's calling me!!!

Make me feel better when I open it post bed time so I don't have to share with DC.

Sliced a side off my Christmas cake last night when desperate for something sweet. I had put the marzipan on but not yet iced it. It looks a slightly strange shape now 😂. I'll have to cut up and present slices on plate on Christmas Day so no one notices 🎅🏼😳

Ah, I feel better for that. Runs upstairs Wink

I broke into the Christmas chocolate biscuits last night. My reasoning is I'm spreading out the calories ( but will probably end up replacing them)😋

SlayingDragons · 04/12/2019 19:59

@totallyradllama how on Earth are there toffees left?!?! Xmas Shock Those are the first to go here. We have to count them as soon as the box is opened so the DC can fairly divvy them up otherwise there is much wailing and gnashing of teeth over who had the extra toffee penny!!

Quality Street are opened here, as is a box of after eights. I also discovered several massively reduced fancy schmancy advent calendars in my trolley yesterday in Tesco (no idea how they got there Xmas Blush) and they have all been opened and added to the (now larger) bowl in the living room. Have added mini toblerones, ferrero rocher, malteser truffles and aero bliss.

Oh, and DH has consumed 3 boxes of mince pies so far. He can’t have any tonight because I had to send the one remaining box to Guides for foodbank donation which I had completely forgotten to buy for so I’m betting there will be a box of biscuits open before the evening’s out

Its December so its Christmas. Of course ive started eating them, and i will keep buying more!

marvellousnightforamooncup · 04/12/2019 20:37

I bought some Lidl cherry marzipan chocolates. I've opened the but I don't like them, too sloppy and fruity.

DariaMorgendorffer · 04/12/2019 20:41

Not yet Shock I can't believe my own strength! Trying to keep fairly virtuous until the weekend of 20th. Have lost a (small) bit of weight & don't want to pile it on before xmas day arrives...

MerryDeath · 04/12/2019 20:42

I'm so irritated with DP for making an unauthorised sainsb visit and buying a tin of celebrations and a tin of heroes. ffs we still have half of last years heros. totally unnecessary. and i would have been happier with a TCO and some mint matchmakers so i'll be making up for that tomorrow. and they'll probably be opened straightaway we don't have christmas chocolate so much as just chocolate.

MegGriffin · 04/12/2019 21:23

My mum keeps our chocs and biscuits at her house as we have no discipline here at all.

gingersausage · 04/12/2019 21:35

This place cracks me up sometimes. It’s such a strange combination of “I sniff a lettuce leaf for a treat” and thinking it’s perfectly normal to shovel down family tins of chocolates just because it’s December.

Why does no one just eat normal meals?

GeoffreyAndBungle · 04/12/2019 21:49

I have not opened any of the chocolates or snacks (yet) but one or 2 of the gin baubles on the Xmas tree may have gone missing Xmas Confused

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 04/12/2019 21:51

No because I haven’t bought any yet! Mainly because I have no will power and know if scoff the lot.
