What microwave do I want?

Old faithful plain microwave died, am confused by new offerings. Do I want just a microwave or a microwave oven or a microwave grill. Can you really cook a pizza in them the same as the oven? Help.

I have a static one (Russell Hobbs) that I really like. It’s big & v easy to keep clean as it’s a smooth surface throughout because it doesn’t have the turning plate. I was sceptical at first but it still heats everything evenly.

One that is a convection oven and grill as well, it's all we have since our oven stopped working so it's been worth it's weight in gold.

Hmm, I don’t think I would trust a static one! But then our old rotating one didn’t heat through anyway...

Sorry Hugged I’ve only just seen this. It’s this one but DH managed to get it in the sale last year. I don’t think he looked much tbh, it was just a case of needing one so he could warm his tea up for the tenth time.

I have the Russell Hobbs one too, have never used any combo functions so just want one that heats. It’s so much easier to clean without the turn plate, I’m really happy with it.

My oven broke a while back and, long story short, i’ll be without one for a while so I bought a combi microwave/oven/grill and I love it. The oven part is way better than my old gas oven. As it’s just me and DD here I’m not actually going to bother getting another oven and just use that instead. However, if you have a main cooker and a family, then there’s little point in getting an all singing/dancing microwave.
