A few years ago, a week before a general election I used to see loads of houses with "vote for party x" type banners in the windows of people's houses. I've hardy seen any this year. Interestingly most of the political flyers I've seen have been posted in public places like by fields or bus stops (I.E, where you can't tell who posted it). It could just be 'politics fatigue' I guess but my sense is that UK politics has gotten so divisive over recent years, and there's so much anger out there, that many people no longer wish to publicly support a political party for fear of a backlash from people with different political views. There seems to be truth behind this too as in my local town alone the Lib Dem offices have been defaced twice already this year by paint being thrown on the windows. Have you noticed this where you live?
