Having workmen in the house

Does it make anyone else feel uncomfortable or is it just me?

Have a plumber here fitting a shower right now, he's a lovely chap, causing no problems, but as always happens when I have someone working in the house I feel all sort of, well, wrong! I don't know what to do with myself - if I play the radio or music I'm worried I will miss anything he might want to say to me. If I sit with my book I can't concentrate so it's a waste of time really.

I'm always worried I will be asked a question I can't answer, or be expected to know where something is I've never heard of...gosh I sound quite mad, but really, I wish he would finish the job and go home....and I wish I could stop wandering around like a spare part !

I hated it when workmen were here - for a long time - some years ago. It's far better to have people come in when you're out - at work or on holiday or whatever.

Hopefully your situation will not last too long.

i'm having my boiler replaced on Thursday and Friday this week - I will be out of the house whilst they are here but still feel weird about it1 Def going to have to make sure I tidy all my underwear up instead of leaving it draped on radiators Grin

I always feel they are judging me because I genuinely work from home but somehow to them it looks like I'm just sitting on the sofa with the laptop doing nothing... and they usually make a comment about it.
