Fresh coffee drinkers? Help please!

DH makes himself a fresh coffee every day. He really enjoys it but mentioned the other day that making it in his press is becoming time consuming and annoying. He doesn't want a machine but I was considering something similar to the press as a birthday present. I don't drink coffee and know so very little about it that I need help! Is there something similar to the press, maybe quicker or just easier to use that I could buy him?

It has a timer too but I have never bothered learning how to use it

A standard cafetiere is less fuss to use, but way more fuss to clean.

I use both, depending on whether I want a fresh tasting coffee (Aeropress) or a slightly sludgy (in a good way) one (cafetiere)

You could just put a timer on the plug.
