Where can I report someone I only know on Facebook experiencing pyschosis and believing he is God?

There's someone I have come across on Facebook who is very clearly mentally unwell, experiencing pyschosis and believes he is God. Am I able to contact some kind of crisis team for him even though I'm not a relative? I know his address and name as he's said his address on videos he's posted telling everyone his delusions of the police coming to kill him.
I just feel so bad and want to help him bit don't know how!

Isnit improving brain health?

SnorkMaiden81 · 02/12/2019 22:08

Has he any family on Facebook likely to be seeing this too?

ThisMustBeMyDream · 02/12/2019 22:11

I've just looked back. It is the page I mentioned - someone posted this on here on sunday night. It was deleted by MNHQ. I believe the OP did indeed get through to police and report it. He is clearly still in psychosis however.

Shockers · 02/12/2019 22:15

Phone the police again.

Confused202020 · 02/12/2019 22:21

Yes improving brain health

Why did MNHQ delete it? I would report to the police as concern for welfare OP xx

Confused202020 · 02/12/2019 22:23

Is it worth phoning the police? Will they do anything? Or is it better to contact some kind of mental health service?
Did the police go out to him or anything?

Something about identifying IRL 🙄

ThisMustBeMyDream · 02/12/2019 22:25

From reading his page it seemed like the police may have gone. But I have no idea. I believe someone messaged the BBC too, who said they would look in to it (he wad threatening them and their families - ex employee)

Confused202020 · 02/12/2019 22:28

I googled the local crisis team but it says only current users can call, and I'm not so not sure whether that's a good idea. I'll ring the non emergency police line, it's worth a try.

The BBC?

ThisMustBeMyDream · 02/12/2019 22:30

He worked for them hence the ex-employee.

RebootYourEngine · 02/12/2019 22:32

Where I am it is the police who deal with vulnerable people so they would be the first people that I would call. They can take them to a hospital for treatment.

Hopefully this person gets help if needed.

Confused202020 · 02/12/2019 22:33

It's definitely needed, phoning now

I looked at the page and he sounds very ill. I also work for the police - and would advise you to call the police force covering his area. It's not really a police issue and they may or may not attend but could make a referral to the relevant agencies to help him.
If they have already attended this may have already been done - the police unfortunately have limited powers when it comes to mental health.

rubydoobydoo · 02/12/2019 22:35

Cross-posted with you saying you are calling - good luck OP and hope he gets the help he needs.

Shockers · 02/12/2019 23:44

The police can detain someone in hospital for either 24 or 48 hours (I can’t remember) whilst their mental health is assessed. It happened to my daughter- everyone was extremely kind to her.

Blabbyblab · 02/12/2019 23:56

He hasn't posted anything for a while, so hopefully he is getting some help.

Confused202020 · 02/12/2019 23:59

Police said they have had a few calls and they're getting an ambulance crew out to assess him

Confused202020 · 03/12/2019 00:26

I just hope he answers the door

Confused202020 · 03/12/2019 00:38

He was posting again 20 mins ago :( it's sad, if I ever get like that which hopefully won't ever happen I hope I get help quick, must be terryfing for him inside his head

OP posts:
Rudolphsjinglebells · 03/12/2019 06:23

I really hope he gets help before it's too late Sad

Thescrewinthetuna · 03/12/2019 06:34

He posted 2hours ago so it doesn’t seem like he is getting help. Sad and scary

StealthPolarBear · 03/12/2019 06:40

Well I've just had a look and presumably the police would be interested in the threats he's making to social media employees. That will be a way in.

GalactiCat · 03/12/2019 06:42

Wow. The threats on there are chilling. I'm surprised they aren't taken seriously. Let's hope he doesn't harm anyone. Poor guy.
