Will I get away with machine washing this...?

On a 30 delicates cycle?

Hopefully the picture comes out clear enough. I'm wondering if it's one of these cases of the retailer erring on the side of caution. Or should I just hand wash (which I detest Grin)?

For full disclosure it's a Mint Velvet hoodie which I do love and do not wish to ruin. But I'm lazy.

I would.

But I also don't want to be responsible for destroying your clothes 🙈

Double check your machine. Mine has 2 hand wash settings on it (thank god - I hate hand washing too!)

I would. Put on a delicate/hand wash cycle and reduce the spin speed if you can. Do you have a net clothes bag you can put it in?

Agree with PP, depends on your machine. We have a Miele that offers a handwash setting and I'd have no issues using that. I'd probably also use 20 not 30. I cold wash all my cashmere.

Thanks for the speedy replies.

I have a Samsung QuickDrive EcoBubble thing which appears to offer a 'delicates' cycle or a 'wool' cycle. I'm edging towards delicates. I don't have a bag but could dig out a pillowcase?

I've got the washing machine manual out and everything - I could have hand washed it by now Grin I just never feel that it really cleans stuff properly.

Yep, wool wash inside out (stops bobbling).

wallskepttumbling · 02/12/2019 20:16

It's in! Delicates cycle, 20 degrees, inside out, 400 spin. Dot of detergent.

How did it go?

wallskepttumbling · 03/12/2019 18:35

Sorry, I meant to come back and update.

It was absolutely fine! It came out the machine nice and clean and I just put it on a radiator to dry. No felting or bobbling or shrinking etc.

Thanks for all the advice Smile

Glad it came out unscathed!
