I bought mine Lego when he was 18, and pretty much every year since he was 5, but I realise that he may be in the minority! Does he have any hobbies?

Christmaspug · 02/12/2019 14:37

Doing a degree in maths ,likes his xbox ,not in to clothes ,I’ve asked and asked ,and just says nothing
I’ve 4 kids to buy for ,1 girl ,3 boys ,the others are easy to buy for ,but not him.
It does not help that he is 6 foot 4 and I can’t find nice clothes for him 😥😢😓

Christmas - my 17 is the same height as yours. Next and River island do x-long ranges.

BarbaraofSeville · 02/12/2019 14:45

Give him money and a token something to open whether chocolate, nuts, alcohol, socks or whatever.

He can then spend/save the money as he sees fit rather than risk it turning into clutter he doesn't want.

New game or a better controller or headset etc for the xbox.

Herocomplex · 02/12/2019 14:55

A Microsoft Game Pass.

BackforGood · 02/12/2019 14:55

Agree with Barbara Give him little 'useful' things to open - smellies, sox, pants, maybe PJs, sweets and other treats, maybe highlighter pens of post its or whatever, and then the cash that he can save until he really does want something - be that a new computer or driving lessons.

Xbox voucher
Joggers
Hoodies
Nice shower gel

petalpower · 02/12/2019 15:01

My DS is getting a screen that can be connected to his laptop to watch iPlayer etc or to his xbox in his room at uni. Also FIFA 20 and probably some jeans if he can find some that fit.
Would your DS like something tech-y like wireless earphones, a power bank for charging on the go or a charging pad that you can lay your device on to charge wirelesssly? A Bluetooth speaker or smart speaker like Google nest?

She might get cheaper version...

PinkyU · 02/12/2019 19:58

Mine is 19 and is obsessed with being picked for jury service Hmm, we’ve got her tickets to take part in ‘The Murder Trial Live’ to be a “jury member” in a gruesome murder unsolved trial.

(Wow that/she sounds so weird GrinGrin)

beckyvardy · 02/12/2019 20:14
