I had to walk through four carriages to find a toilet. Rushed in as I was bursting, hit the button and an alarm thing went off...
I rushed out and thankfully the buffet car lady came and turned it off.
I then had to do the walk of shame past lots of people who had heard everything!! Blush

Ha ha. Don’t worry about it. They don’t know why you pressed it. They’ll just be wondering what the emergency was Smile

I did that after an event in a City building The security man who came along was very nice about it.

I think they should make the signs a lot clearer. I am normally pretty good at reading things but it wasn't clear to me.

I'm torn about the tardis toilets as I call them.. With my dyspraxia and balance issues i love the size of them but the buttons are a nightmare.. My Wilf thinks it's hilarious....

Not nearly as bad as the girl on my train the other day. The door opened on her mid pee and there she was in all her glory poor thing

She must've wanted to die, but she was very dignified about it.

@Elderflower14 - try and find the IT episode where Roy pulls the emergency cord in the disabled toilet Grin

BarbaraofSeville · 02/12/2019 14:11

Ha ha, I once pressed the emergency button in a prison - we do consultancy work and I was supposed to be turning some medical equipment on and couldn't find the power switch and in my frustration started to press every damn switch I could find.

Rest assured that if you ever feel under threat in such a location, press the panic button, and within seconds about 20 burly prison officers will race to your rescue Blush.

Ha ha ha. Whoops!

I hate those toilets, years a go there was only one on the whole train which was 'working', except it wasn't locking. Said it was, sign came up, but nope, press the button and everyone got a good view. There were a lot of red faces that journey, I crossed my legs and danced for a good hour rather than take the risk!

My dd pulled the emergency cord in a museum toilet. She was approx 3 I turned around to lock the door and when turned around she had her hand around the handle pulling. Alarm went off people came running it was really shameful.

JeffreyJefferson · 02/12/2019 15:33

happened to dd a few years back she was shamed

MustardScreams · 02/12/2019 15:34

I pulled the emergency cord in a hospital loo thinking it was a light switch

3 people burst in to see my bewildered face wondering wtf they were doing. Didn’t live that down for a while.

DNAwrangler · 02/12/2019 15:46

My toddler son once pushed the TODDLER HEIGHT panic button in one of those public toilets that is its own room on a street.

Sirens went off, door popped open. Poor DD mooned the main shopping street while DS made a run for it.

4 year old DD shut and locked the door before I caught DS.

DH showed up and said 'why did you let her in there alone with the door locked'.

Humph.

I pulled the emergency cord in a hospital loo I think it was, when I was groping in the dark for the light cord. It must happen all the time.

DiaryofWimpyMumm · 02/12/2019 16:34

I pulled the emergency cord in the hospital too. It was just after having DS1. I also just left him on the ward whilst I went and had a shower, then pressed the emergency cord. BlushShockBlush

AdoptedBumpkin · 02/12/2019 16:49

I did this once and ended up telling the driver it was a mistake.

Elderflower14 · 02/12/2019 16:51

I was petrified the train would scream to a halt and I would be fined.. 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔

It's the big red button isn't it- you just need to press it. I once had a job where we had to pass calls around the department and everytime I found myself pressing the big red end call button instead of the #extn button. Every time.

NeverGotMyPuppy · 02/12/2019 16:57

I went to the loo on a coach.

Didnt lock the door Blush
