Dressing gown recommendations please

One of the best presents I was ever bought, was my Ted Baker 'moleskin' dressing gown. It's heavy (so hangs well), velvety, soft, warm and washes well too.
I'd like to buy one for my teenage daughter, but it's a bit pricey. Was wondering if anyone had any good, cheaper alternatives for a cosy dressing gown? What I don't want is a fleecy one that starts off promisingly, but 'de-softens' and flattens in the wash.
Thanks!

Should be 'one of the best presents that I ever got'!

I got a lovely one in an M&S outlet the other week - should've been £40 but it was half price. Purple, long, heavy and velvety/plush! I love it already.
