I've skipped the last two.

This year I fear I have to go home to visit family though and am dreading it because there's something about going home to the small town you hated growing up in, that rams home how little you have achieved in your life.

A week over which my dad will likely point out my weight and ask me wtf im planning on doing with my life. My mum will get annoyingly drunk xD The tv has like 6 channels, there's no internet, the house is freezing, the water takes forever to warm up and I really, really don't want to bump into anyone I went to school with. Merry fucking Christmas. Blecccc.

Brigit jones doesn't have a look in.

Snaleandthewhail · 02/12/2019 01:32

@pink do you have to go? A day watching Bridget Jones, pjs wine and chocolate sounds much more preferable.

Not excited

No partner, no kids, dysfunctional wider family

Have already been judged by twatty colleague for not having decorations up in November.

I feel a bit unexcited this year tbh. Not sure why, maybe it's because it feels like a ticklish.
Also, family birthday v close to xmas so just a bit overwhelming.
I am excited for the kids tho. Might be the last year my little one believes but hopefully not.

Well, I sorta feel it's my turn. To be fair, my parents haven't come here the last two Christmases, despite my door being open. But they often visit throughout the year. And I haven't been home in well over a year (though I'd happily never go back to that damn town ever again lol).

I see it more as a holiday for kids and I'd defo rather skip it and just watch tv in my pjs. But I feel my mum really wants me to go up this year and I'm an only child so...

Hoping I find some Christmas work, otherwise I don't think I can get out of it haha.
