I'm having Beast from the East flashbacks and am fighting the urge to buy all the bread I can see!

Whereabouts are you? It’s not too bad where I am. About 4°C with a cold wind but lovely & sunny! Although if you’re having Beast worries you could join us on the Snow Watch thread shameless plug Grin

JackieOHeadScarf · 01/12/2019 14:53

Central Belt, Scotland- hasn't hit 0 all day but gorgeous thick sparkly frost.

yes yes yes
Central belt dweller here--it;'s so cold -3 at midday. I can't stand the thought of another few months of this. Even the dog doesnt want to go out,

TeaAndStrumpets · 01/12/2019 15:20

My hands are so cold my wedding ring slips off. It's fine the rest of the year!

adaline · 01/12/2019 15:26

Yep hasn't hit above freezing here in Cumbria either ❄️❄️

OlaEliza · 01/12/2019 15:32

17° here Grin but still gets chilly at night so I've made a lovely soup for dinner. Can't wait! DH is out gathering kindling for the fire too.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 01/12/2019 15:39

Brr! Yep, that’s definitely cold. I do like sparkly frosts.

I have that problemTea, they’re always slightly loose but even more so in cold weather. I wear my engagement ring above, rather than below, my wedding band as it’s the one I’m more worried about losing.

midsomermurderess · 01/12/2019 15:58

It's 1 degree in Edinburgh and a glorious sunset. I've put the electric blanket on full power and will be snuggling up in bed soon.

managedmis · 01/12/2019 15:59

Glorious

JackieOHeadScarf · 01/12/2019 16:52

Is it just me or is this the first year in a good while we've had this biting cold pre-Christmas? Winter seems to have been Jan-March recently.

I’ve lit the log burner - hubby was saying to put a jumper on so I’ve defied him :)

YorkieTheRabbit · 01/12/2019 16:58

It mad

YorkieTheRabbit · 01/12/2019 17:01

Oops Blush that hod have said, made it to 3 degrees today here in Yorkshire. Still had ice on parts of the garden, raking up the last of the leaves and tidying up. Cold fingers and toes ❄️ Beautiful sunset though

dementedma · 01/12/2019 17:06

Central belt Scotland here too and the frost hasn’t lifted all day. It’s lovely though, all sparkly and crunchy. Have upped my bird feeding stations in the garden and am trying to train a wee robin to take stuff from my hand. He now gets within two or 3 inches before flitting away. Lovely.

Alittleprivacyplease · 01/12/2019 17:15

Not just you, I've been saying this all week, November/December have been much milder in recent years with the really freezing weather generally being Jan-March. I was not prepared for this. On the plus side all DS's football games were cancelled this weekend due the ground being frozen so instead of standing freezing my arse off I've been watching cheesy Christmas films with the fire on, happy days.

dementedpixie · 01/12/2019 17:17

It was -3 when I was defrosting the cars about an hour ago. Hope only 1 layer of frost will be easier to scrape tomorrow.

Myshitisreal · 01/12/2019 17:35

We've the 🔥 lit 😁 it's pure baltic

Likethebattle · 01/12/2019 17:38

In Renfrewshire it’s freezing, just opened door for amazon delivery and it is icy cold x

AGirlHasNoShame · 01/12/2019 18:19

Also central belt and twinkling frost has been omnipresent all weekend! It’s beautiful

JackieOHeadScarf · 01/12/2019 18:29

Depressingly the CountryFile weather man said it is getting warmer, and to be mild and wet by the weekend. I'd rather the lovely sparkly proper cold than the damp.

OP posts:
JackieOHeadScarf · 01/12/2019 18:29

And it's even more depressing that I am a regular viewer of CountryFile

EsselGruntFuttock · 01/12/2019 18:31

It’s really cold where we are and I’m one of the 10000 people who’ve no gas! I’m glad it’s going to warm up a little though.

Ginfordinner · 01/12/2019 18:33

Countryfile fan here Grin
At least it isn't raining

JackieOHeadScarf · 01/12/2019 19:12

Oh no Essel! Fingers crossed it comes back on.

We have a great view here- pure white crescent moon over the fields. Very atmospheric.

Feels biting in Cardiff. Even DDog is wearing her jumper.
