Hello
I just wondered if any one had any ideas about my DDs rash ?
She is 14 & has been run down recently ( she has CFS) but otherwise is ok.
Many thanks Smile

Shingles for sure - get her some antivirals in the next 72 hours and it won't be so bad

Where is the rash? Torso?

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 30/11/2019 14:28

@TanteRose have you had shingles?
Its on her tummy . Thankyou for replying

Yep last year Sad
Started with a scab on my back and the raised rash on my tummy which started to spread, round to my back.
I got the antivirals and painkillers and it was already subsiding after 3 days. It took a while to completely go and I still have a small scar on my stomach (the rash scans over)
Hope your DD is better soon Flowers

TanteRose · 30/11/2019 14:40

scans over > scabs over

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 30/11/2019 14:46

@TanteRose thankyou so much. What did you need to do in terms of seeing people?
Im really worried about Christmas... my mum hasnt had chicken pox and is waiting for a valve replacement.😞

Im really glad you have recovered.

I took a couple of days off work, I think?
Didn't really think about it - shingles isn't contagious unless someone has direct contact with the rash/scabs and so I guess you'd have to be careful if it was on your hands or face and someone touched it?
Your DD should be fine by Xmas Smile

But do go and see your GP to be sure
