DM moved into a care home recently. She has dementia. Her house is nearly sold and I am going through the process of clearing it. It's all very emotional as she has lived there since 1966. Throughout the process and while she deteriorated her next door neighbours have been unfailing kind to both of us and also to our grandparents who previously lived in the same house. I am so grateful to them and would like to give them something. They have a large garden and was thinking of buying a rose. There's no rose called Good Neighbours but the following exist. I will have to find out what type, size and colour etc but can I have opinions on suitable names or names to avoid?

Fond memories, kind regards, memory lane, never forgotten, Samaritan, something special, thank you, with thanks,

I have zero knowledge of roses but I think this is a beautiful thing to do! Hopefully someone with some real advice will be along shortly.

I would avoid 'kind regards' and 'Samaritan' but any of the others would be lovely.
See if you can find out what soil they have, and get advice to make sure the one you get will thrive in their garden.
It's a lovely idea, and will last for years for them xx

No idea about names but that’s a really lovely thought

Thanks for the replies. Although those rose names exist I actually couldn't find any to buy so I have chosen Warm Wishes. It's not that attractive but it suits their garden and soil and the name fits.

That's great OP well done! I'm sure it will be warmly appreciated Smile
