I am a massive fan of Crime Junkie and Generation Why, but I need something else to listen to as I have listened to all the back episodes now, so some suggestions would be great.

OP posts:

Not watched this myself but everyone seems to go wild for ‘my dad wrote a porno’

Cooroo · 29/11/2019 17:19

If you haven't listened to S-Town I strongly recommend it! Also Dad Wrote a Porno. And Adam Buxton.

MrsJoshNavidi · 29/11/2019 17:22

The Missing Cryptoqueen is good.
Also The Ratline, Older and Wider, Something Rhymes with Purple, Fortunately Work like a Woman, Beyond Today, 13 Minutes to The Moon, The Battles that Won Our Freedoms.

That should keep you going for s while!

Like Cooroo said, S-Town. Just a captivating story.

runningintothesunset · 29/11/2019 17:24

Bear Brook
In the Dark Season 2

runningintothesunset · 29/11/2019 17:25

Ear Hustle is amazing too, start from the beginning

AfterSomeAdvice1234 · 29/11/2019 17:25

Heavyweight! It's so so good.

Also, discovering the desert island discs archives has been amazing for me - highly recommend Tom Hanks and David Suchet (among countless others) episodes.

chemenger · 29/11/2019 17:28

Freakonomics is good also (a bit niche) a radio Scotland one called Witch Hunt.

OhioOhioOhio · 29/11/2019 17:28

I like Graham Norton

BarkandCheese · 29/11/2019 17:29

Casefile Is very good if you like true crime.

CheeseSandwitch · 29/11/2019 17:31

If you like Harry Potter or want to learn about it without reading the books, I'm loving Potterless!

Halsall · 29/11/2019 17:32

Yes, I second Adam Buxton! He’s great. So funny and he seems such a lovely guy. And his ‘ramble-chats’ with the guests are also really interesting.

WhoEatsPopTarts · 29/11/2019 17:32

Off Menu is fab

LillyLeaf · 29/11/2019 17:35

'Casefile', he has a creepy accent and tells a new crime story each episode.
'Real Crime Profile' they deep dive into various crimes.
'Criminology' some one off episodes and some series.
'Teacher's Pet' about an old case in Australia of a missing women.
'The mysterious Mr Epstein' just unbelievable he was allowed to do this.

TooDamnSarky · 29/11/2019 17:37

The short stories from the New Yorker - "the writer's voice"

BlueEyedFloozy · 29/11/2019 17:37

What I've listened to and enjoyed recently: Chernobyl
My Dad wrote a porno
Conspiracy Theories
Unsolved Mysteries
Passenger List
Room 20
Today in Crime

Fredy45 · 29/11/2019 19:13

My dad wrote a Porno is my favourite by far. I quite like the Jessie Ware one and all killa no filla.

There is one called Poorly Read where 2 guys read Harry Potter from the start. It is incredibly puerile and has no insight or anything but I do still laugh like a drain.

Richard Herring and James Acasters too - I like funny. Oh and Adam Buxton

reefedsail · 29/11/2019 19:18

WinterHoliday · 29/11/2019 20:57

If you like crime podcasts I found "Unheard - the Fred and Rose West tapes" fascinating. It's a case which I have always been interested in. Obviously, some details are quite disturbing. The podcast is by a journalist who covered the story at the time.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 29/11/2019 21:14

I thought my dad wrote a porno was shit.

I like my favourite murder, Adam Buxton, this podcast will kill you, sword and scale, the man in the window, off menu, the last days of August.

All my others are more niche hobby interests but these would I think be interesting enough!

Sammysquiz · 29/11/2019 21:24

I like Shagged Married Annoyed, and the Happy one that Fearne Cotton does.

I also like The Bill one where they interview the old cast members but I appreciate that’s not everyone’s cup of tea Grin

ISawyouinTescoyesterday · 29/11/2019 22:11

I find Gemma Collins podcasts hillarious.
And ferne cotton for inspiration.

Cecilandsnail · 29/11/2019 22:15
