Bedding

I'm after some advise! I'm currently prepping for my first baby. I have their bedding sorted for the first 6(ish) months, but am looking to buy bedding for when I move them to a cot.
I've tried to look for advise online on what I need to purchase, but would appreciate any information?
I've currently got mattress protectors/fitted sheets. I've read that you aren't suppose to use a quilt under 12months. So is my only option from 6 months old to use the sleeping bags? I don't have anything against sleeping bags, I would rather know my options and go from there :-)
Thank you!

The sleeping bags are great. Both mine have been in them from about 1/2 months.

You can pretty much use the same things you do for the first 6 months...only the bigger size IYSWIM.
The sleeping bags (I found) were the best though

Sleeping bags all the way here. I didn't usually bother to put them in them for naps when they were in the cot I tended to just use a blanket, but a lot of the time they would get their legs stuck in the cot bars so I stuck to grobags until about age 18 months when they went into toddler beds

Another vote for sleeping bag

Sleeping bags are brilliant. You only need sheets and couple of those. My DC were little and couldn't go into sleeping bags till they were about 8 weeks and we had to faff about with blankets till then. If they had been big enough to go in bags earlier they would have done.

Fitted sheet on the mattress and a sleeping bag. That's all my son had until age three. We got him a duvet and pillow when he moved into his big boy bed.

Yer sleeping bags are the best or sleep snugglers from jojo maman Bebe (sleeping bags with legs)

By the way you don’t need to buy everything in advance. I’d wait to see what works for you and your baby first as different children like different ones. Ds liked the bags dd prefers having legs so sleep snugglers.

We use sheets and cellular blankets for DD, she did not tolerate a sleeping bag at all once she could roll.
We had thicker sleeping bags and I found them a pain to dry at times. Blankets and sheets have proved faster drying over a radiator.
