Dryer is already on for it’s usual job. Using it to prove some bread dough.
Any other alternative uses?

Ha! My DH was doing that the other day when I got home!

FIL puts the cover on and uses it like a tiny sauna ...

I use it to defrost stuff.

And warm up my PJs before I put them on.

wormshock · 28/11/2019 12:19

Well my cat likes to sleep under it!

HollyBollyBooBoo · 28/11/2019 12:21

My dog does too! We've now learnt when we can't find him to look under the dryer in the spare room!

I love the idea of all the animals under dryers.

My cat used to curl up underneath mine until a sock fell on her!

BarbaraofSeville · 28/11/2019 13:32

Just the other day I thought about buying some sort of heated airer to replace the old crappy basic one we have, and I decided against it, because I don't want to give the cats further reason to deposit their hairs and grubby paws on the washing.

I deliberately bought an oven that can be set at any temperature from 30 C upwards, so use that for bread proving anyway.

My cat once tried to jump on top of the dryer and very inelegantly fell off it. Now he sleeps under it.

longtompot · 28/11/2019 15:55

@CigarsofthePharoahs poor thing, must have thought the sky was falling in!

I'm liking these ideas. I don't know why I didn't think of proving my dough on mine instead of trying out a new idea I just read about by using the microwave (heat up a jug of water until steamy and pop the bowl in to prove).

I don't have one but if I did i'd use it for helping ferment my home brewed wine and beer Wine
