I'm trying to reconnect our Sony Bravia TV following recent building work. I have everything sorted apart from these two leads which connect to a signal booster. Please can someone tell me where abouts to plug them into the back of the TV? I've tried the obvious sockets but they don't seem to fit in any of them...? I'm at my wits end, DH isn't here and my teenagers are whinging about not being able to watch I'm a celebrity Sad please help Mumsnet! Thanks!

The whiYe thick wire on the right of the tv picture is an aerial wire. Where does that go? I would assume that an aerial (coaxial cable) wire needs to go from tv to booster and booster into aerial point into wall and presumably powered by its own plug into a normal plug socket.

In fact the white wire actually says coaxial cable on it. So that's your aerial wire.

Wait, is the back aerial wire in the top oF the booSter going into the adjoIning socket? That is also an aerial wire. At some point the tv needs to be connected via an aerial wire to the booster so I think you have a surplus of wires!

The white cable is in the TV and the wall. 8 belive correctly in place, the signal booster (the black box with two leads sticking out of it) somehow plugs into the back of the TV. It doesn't work without it (even with the white aerial cable correctly in place)

No somethings not right, if you can just plug an aerial into the wall then you have no need for a booster. The booster needs to between the and aerial socket in wall. To 'boost' the signal. White wire is aerial cable as is black one so depending on the male female connections, plug white wire into one of the sockets on top of booster and black sore out of the other one into the wall.

There is only one aerial port on the back of the tv. You can't have two.

Stressedout10 · 27/11/2019 22:00

Ok unplug 1 of the black cables (the 1 that says out) then unplug the white cable from the wall and plug it into the now empty out socket on the booster. Then plug the remaining black wire from the booster box (the 1 that says in) and plug it into the wall.

Replace the white cable with the ones going into the Booster, it should go from the wall (Where it connects to the areal) to the booster then into your TV, see if that works.

Thanks all for your help and advice - I tried removing the white cable and replacing it with one end of the signal booster box leads. Unfortunately all that did was make the little green light on the box go off instead of on. I then tried replacing the white slot into a different slot on the TV but it was too large for any of them. The end of the booster box lead then started sparking when I had another go at trying to insert it.. Hmm Have given up for tonight and will get DH to look at it tomorrow. Thanks again for your help
