What little things do you wish were possible?

I wish I could knit/embroider whilst reading, would make cozy days just perfect.
I wish flowers lasted a few days longer.
I wish you could forget certain things to experience them again for the first time

Wrong time of year, but suncream should be obsolete by now, replaced by a pill swallowed in the morning which lasts all day.

Children + sand + swimming + suncream + missing bits = Angry

Teleportation out of my daughter's room when she's calm but not yet asleep.

Streaming services didn't do that annoying pause thing every few episodes!

"Are you still watching?" Stop bloody asking! If I wanted to stop I'm perfectly capable of turning it off!

Not little but as someone with ocd yes a self cleaning house would be AMAZING!

I wish there was a pill you could take and you were protected from the sun to factor 50 for 24 hours.

I wish there was a better solution to cling film

I wish no matter how much sleep you got, you didn’t feel tired

I wish our pets had the same lifespan as us.

Self cleaning clothes. I’m so bored of filling and emptying the washing machine, hanging stuff up to dry, then moving it back into drawers and wardrobes. It’s so bloody boring.

Asking teenagers to do something and it is done! And not resort to nagging I am of course talking about the teenagers I teach, not my own perfect little darlings Hmm

I would like lots of things out of Harry Potter to be true. In particular I would like to be able to fly on a broom and to have a house elf. ( I would be very kind to him of course!) I'd also like to be able to change my hair colour whenever I felt like it, like Tonks. It would be great to be able to do that without spending hours in the hairdressers and without ever getting roots showing.
A more down to earth wish is that I could learn to bunny hop on my bike. I just can't master it but with all the potholes around here it would be a very useful skill to have.

Teleporting. Bored at the weekend? Teleport to California. In a traffic jam? Teleport home. I often fantasise about this and how it would work.

ElectricMistofelees · 28/11/2019 11:42

Yes they’re not for everyone, and some really
Don’t work on audio, but they have diverted me from watching too much tv to getting through more reading whilst knitting Wink

Better solution to clingfilm as in works better, or more environmentally friendly?

My American friends introduced me to the revelation which is Glad Wrap - I have no idea why we don't have it here, it's like cling film but reusable, stretchy, doesn't stick to itself, actually fucking works Confused

If you want a more environmentally friendly option beeswax wraps are supposed to be good, but I have no idea if they actually are.

Short hair is brilliant. So much less time dealing with it.

I am not sure teleporting is really a little thing, but if we are allowed things like that, I always wanted Bernard's Watch so that I could pause time and just carry on having a lie in until whatever time I wanted to get up. Or allow me to walk to a bus/train stop at my leisure rather than huffing and puffing to get there in time.

I wish that you could make a force field around you so you didn't have to feel wind on a cold day. So annoying, and another hazard of having long hair as it flies everywhere, and gets stuck in your lip balm.

I wish I had glasses that didn't mist up when I wear a scarf over my nose. Maybe I need to fashion a device with some straws to redirect my breath out of the bottom of the scarf instead. Actually, anti-mist, anti-fingerprint and anti-dust glasses would be awesome please.

I also need an instant temperature regulator. Being too hot when you have wrapped up for the outside and then step into a heated bus or shop is awful. And the first moment when you get out of bed on a Winter morning is horrible as well.
