Strangest things you've ever seen people do?!

I can name a few.

I have my own, I clean my entire bathroom everyday and apparently that's odd, but I didn't realise. Ditto the kitchen, bathroom, etc.

As for other people, I've recently seen someone shouting at me for taking up a parent and child space (DC was in the shops already and I'd be taking him back with me).

Even if I saw someone very clearly getting back in and still no DC, I just wouldn't say anything Confused They could have a hidden disability. They could just be cheeky, but it's not my business.

The biggest shocker was a woman in the changing areas at DC's Puddle Ducks class. She showered naked, which is all fine, I couldn't care less and think we should all be more accepting of it as a society. Then she went on to shave her pits! As if it was all normal and fine in that area and her DC was in their baby car seat on the floor Grin I've never seen anything like it

You've led a sheltered life Smile

mybonniedearie · 27/11/2019 13:40

My aunty did that years ago, went to a swimming pool as a family . At the time she was fairly new to the family having only married my uncle about four years prior, never really known her before this specific weekend .

She stripped totally starkers in the shower and started shaving her legs ... then proceeded to tidy her ‘landing strip’ ... how do you look someone in the eye after that ?!!

My mum has strange cleaning habits . Scrubs the toilet with bleach after every single wee . Every bloody time .

My gran apparently does it too - and also has a house full of stupid automatic air fresheners and scentsy things, the house reeks of that nasty toilet freshener smell !!

youcanonlydraftthefuture · 27/11/2019 13:51

Oh I do scrub the toilet multiple times too, but only if someone has done more than a wee or I suspect they have because they've taken a while up there Blush

I saw my neighbour brushing and dusting her car last week with a small brush and a yellow duster!!
The outside of the car...

eenymeenyminyme · 27/11/2019 14:03

My friend's mum used to clean the house top to bottom with dettol, and hoover the front garden.

Cobblersandhogwash · 27/11/2019 14:07

Hoover the front garden?

Bleaching the loo after every use?

Gosh. These poor people must be tortured by thoughts of germs etc.

Witchofzog · 27/11/2019 14:09

I talk to my car. "Hello car. How Are you? Isn't it cold today? What music shall we listen to today?" Etc. I recently passed my test and am totally in love with my ten year old car as it has given me so much freedom. But I know it's odd too Grin

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 27/11/2019 14:11

I clean my bathrooms, kitchen and Hoover everyday is that not normal? My mother also does.

Roomba · 27/11/2019 14:12

Well, I once saw a naked man defecating on the pavement outside Boots. That was pretty strange...

On the more domestic side, I once had a neighbour who would wash his car every single day and trimmed his lawn with small scissors to ensure it was completely perfect. Yet the inside of his house was absolutely grotty and caked in grime. Very peculiar.

nutellalove · 27/11/2019 14:12

Saw someone cutting their fingernails and toenails on the tube. And letting them fly everywhere in all directions in other peoples faces.

youcanonlydraftthefuture · 27/11/2019 14:12

Cobblers Germs don't bother me. I just like things to be smelling 'fresh'

Witch I do that too. I also think cars have faces when I look at them Blush (their lights being their eyes etc, the number place their teeth). I recently put some thought into what the yellow number plate at the back could be and have concluded it must be a bum runs for the hills with embarrassment

In my student days I shared halls with a guy who had the following practice to drinking water:

  • pour water from tap into mug
  • microwave water until luke warm “to kill bacteria”
  • put ice cubes in water to speed up cooling
  • put mug of water in cupboard
  • return 30 minutes later to drink water

I think about him often.

youcanonlydraftthefuture · 27/11/2019 14:13

nutella Argh, I've seen two people do this on separate occasions. Absolutely vile. How can they be so inconsiderate? Nasty

spiderlight · 27/11/2019 14:14

@Roomba we once saw a woman defecating alongside a small bush in a park in broad daylight, but she had clearly decided to prioritise anonymity over dignity, as she had her head stuck in the bush and her arse out for all to see. She has become known in family legend as Park Arse Woman.

SallyWD · 27/11/2019 14:14

I saw a woman pull down her trousers and do a poo in the middle of the street in broad daylight. I remember feeling this huge sense of shock and disgust. It's not funny though as she must have been mentally ill or on drugs.

eenymeenyminyme · 27/11/2019 14:14

I clean my bathrooms, kitchen and Hoover everyday is that not normal?

Not for me it's not, they get a proper clean / hoover once a week and wipe down as I go along. I work all day and find better things to do with my spare time don't have enough hours in the day

Witchofzog · 27/11/2019 14:16

@youcanonlydraftthefuture haha I think they have faces too. Mine is obviously the prettiest Grin And I believe if you are nice to your car then your car will be nice to you. I took it a bit far this week though when I apologised for leaving it in the cold and rain Hmm

Mamabear144 · 27/11/2019 14:17

I saw my grandad hoovering the roof of his house...

youcanonlydraftthefuture · 27/11/2019 14:18

Mama I've done similar and even felt remorseful that mine doesn't have a garage to keep warm inside of and have often thought it would be lovely to tuck her away for the nightGrin

I knew someone who used to eat sponges (think she had PICA).

Seen people who take their shoes off on the tube.

Agree with @eenymeenyminyme - I clean as I go, give it a clean on a weekend and twice a week the cleaner does the rest. Where in my 50 hour week I'd find the time while also living a life is beyond me

Thescrewinthetuna · 27/11/2019 14:21

I saw someone clipping their nails while waiting on the platform at the train station. Just sitting on a bench with his feet out clipping away.

A previous neighbour would cut her front lawn with scissors. Like normal size kitchen scissors. She would be out doing it for ages every week.

LemonPrism · 27/11/2019 14:21

Every two weeks* not twice a week

putastrawunderbaby · 27/11/2019 14:21

I change my playlist often so that my car won't be bored listening to the same music every day on our commute. I like to tell him when I've downloaded something new. Blush I do have real life friends, honestly!

eenymeenyminyme · 27/11/2019 14:22

Every two weeks* not twice a week

Thought you sounded a bit keen there LemonPrism Grin
