Romantic dinner ideas

I want to plan a medium-romantic meal for my new man. I am sooo rusty on this type of thing. Just wondered if you could share how you would plan a romantic meal? Like what kind of food to serve, what kind of music etc?

I say medium-romantic as I'm still trying to play it cool a little bit- don't want to scare him away!

Steak! Every time. Peppercorn sauce - ground pepper, one oxo cube and some cream. Warm until thick. Aldi do amazing thick cut chips (their special range). Muahrooms in a pan with butter and garlic. Asparagus in the oven with some lemon juice. Easy and tasty.

I agree about the steak, always a good choice. If you wanted something a bit more complex, make the steak into stroganoff and serve with rice. Or pork fillet in mustard sauce would be nice as well.

A couple of warm nibbles to go with an aperitif, there are lots available at the moment, maybe mini quiche or filo wrapped prawns. Have these instead of a more structured first course. Do finger bowls with a thin slice of lemon floating.

Pudding, do something light, a plate of strawberries, with the leaves on, a few of them dipped in plain chocolate ahead of time, with a spoon of flavoured cream (again available just now) to dip them in.
Or wine jelly with some raspberries or halved grapes set in it.
Or a plate of a couple of slices of cheese, small bunch of grapes and some walnuts.

Have a fab night! Wine Wine
