Need help with deciding on wall colour. Carpet is black with grey flowers, but there's a cream stone fireplace. Previously had cream patterned wallpaper which looked nice with fireplace, but awful with carpet. Currently just white undercoat which looks nice with carpet, but vile against fireplace.
Room doesn't get a lot of light, so can't be a strong colour as such, because it just leaches the light out of the room.
Doing this as a thank-you for MIL to save her on decorating fees, unfortunately can't afford to replace carpet or fireplace.
Anyone got any ideas?
