Dairy Diary cookbook biscuit recipe help please

I'm trying to find a biscuit recipe that I used back in the 90s from my mum's old dairy diary cookbook that was probably from the 70s or possibly 80s. It was a basic recipe but then you could add dried fruit or bits or spice. I used to make cherry ones and cinnamon ones at Christmas. It was the first recipe in the biscuit section and the picture was a few mason type jars full of various biscuits. All I can remember is plain flour and an egg yoke for combining. No idea on amounts of sugar or butter but they were the best homemade biscuits ever. They didn't spread out much so retained their shape. Can anyone help please?

The cherry biscuits are baking. I'll post a picture later before they all disappear!

@BercowsFestiveFlamingo Sounds and looks like the recipe was as successful as ever. Think there is a direct correlation between speed of consumption and tastiness. Bet first batch didn't even get to cool! Grin
