Houses decorated for Christmas already!

I know that every year people say that Christmas gets earlier but this had to be the earliest I’ve seen houses decorated.
I walked the mile to the supermarket yesterday and saw about 15 houses all decorated!

Is this just here are anywhere else?

Not this again!

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 25/11/2019 20:22

We put ours up tonight.

DC put so many lights on the tree that it's hard to look directly at it.

IT'S WONDERFUL!

MrsFoxPlus4Again · 25/11/2019 20:25

It brings some people joy. I love having my Christmas tree up I think it’s wonderful. Don’t put yours up if it bothers you

I'm putting ours up right now started yesterday.

I live in Ireland and they have to be up for the toy show on Friday!

ooooohbetty · 25/11/2019 20:26

There's houses round here had the trees up since the beginning of November. Ridiculous.

Buddyelf · 25/11/2019 20:28

How many threads on this subject Hmm if people want to put their decorations up a week earlier than you see as ‘acceptable’ let them.
It’s doing you no harm.

Elphame · 25/11/2019 20:31

Around here too. Environmentally horrible.

goose1964 · 25/11/2019 20:31

We went to a rugby match on Saturday and the way through the housing estate is a bit complicated, and it was the first time in years that I've been there. Luckily one house had Christmas lights in the garden and we could use it as a guide to the right road. Other houses had window decorations up.

FlamingoAndJohn · 25/11/2019 22:02

Did I say it was a problem?
I’m simply saying I’ve never seen them up this early before and wondered if it was the same across the country. I don’t recall having seen them up before December before.

I think it looks lovely.

We put ours up in tonight but they aren’t getting switched on till Sunday, DP has to work Friday and Saturday late so won’t have time to do it so he did it today 😊

EdHelpPls · 25/11/2019 23:06

I knew there was decorations we never put out and I wanted to donate them to school fair next weekend. Normally I wait till first week in december.
If it wasn’t for the kids I’d be happen with just twinkly lights everywhere. Feels so cosy in the dark evenings :)

VignetteStonemoss · 25/11/2019 23:10

It seems like everyone is on overdrive this year. I've seen so many decorated houses/trees up already, many of which have been like it for a good 1-2 weeks. It is taking all my willpower not to get on board and start decorating. It's all going up 1st December.

Up until a few years ago we weren't putting the decorations up until a week before Christmas but since having children we like to prolong it for as long as possible.

CeCeLaine66 · 26/11/2019 01:12

i saw a house with outdoor lights just after Halloween, neighbour does her tree straight after bonfire night. I’ve seen the odd one or two decorated houses in the past couple of weeks but this weekend will be when everyone round here will start theirs.
My outdoor lights will be going up in the next day or two ready for switch on, on Sunday. The inside will be done this weekend.

managedmis · 26/11/2019 01:13

Madness

DioneTheDiabolist · 26/11/2019 01:15

Round these parts, they started going up 2 weeks ago. I dont do mine so early, but me and DC love seeing other peoples on our evening walk.☺️
