Just that really! The amazon reviews seem to be either one or five stars...

Is it a good game? (My dc are 9 and 12)

Thanks.

Love. It! We now have “nope” cards in every day life. If you know, you know.

Bessica1970 · 25/11/2019 21:05

I’ve bought three sets now - one for my Dd21 , one for my younger Dc (8 and 11) and one for my tutor group at school (11-18) and they all love it.

dreichwinter · 25/11/2019 21:20

I found it rather dull, it came highly recommended.

I don't like it, DD (10) has loved it the last two years.
We both love Gubs, and still very much enjoy Sleeping Queens.

GuppytheCat · 25/11/2019 21:26

Best for older, slightly pissed, teenagers, IME.

icantbecani · 25/11/2019 21:33

I'm going to have another go with it. We played it once last Xmas and it was shit. Maybe I was pissed.

cheeseismydownfall · 25/11/2019 22:16

Ours really enjoyed it (and like a PP said, regularly play "nope cards" in real life). I felt the basic game got a bit samely after a while, but we were given both the expansion packs as gifts and they make big different to the complexity of the game (for the better, I think). They're not cheap though.

Like another PP, I loved One Night Ultimate Warewolf when I played it with my niece - can't wait until our youngest is a bit older and we can play it as a family.

justanothernomaj · 25/11/2019 22:23

DD and her Year 9 mates love Cat Chaos. It’s fast and fun but not long or complicated.

Bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 25/11/2019 22:24

Love it! So do dds. We have all the extension packs too. It's hilarious

stclair · 25/11/2019 22:25

We didn’t really get it!

SheisMammyof2 · 25/11/2019 22:27

I haven't played it myself but DS11 plays it in school and loves it. DS9 is looking for Unstable Unicorns which seems to be similar.

bigdecisonsahead · 25/11/2019 22:28

We can’t really work out how to play

Tigerty · 25/11/2019 22:29

My DSs love Exploding kittens. We take it on holiday with us for evening entertainment when we’re not fussed on the hotels offerings. Mine have become accomplished in hiding defuse cards and double or triple noping.

They’re 11 and 13 now. Still love it.

NCTDN · 25/11/2019 22:30

We love it. I was sceptical about buying it last year for the cost, but we've def got our money's worth. It's replaced uno add the holiday game.

GooseFeather · 25/11/2019 22:48

Mine love it. Especially with the expansion packs. We have two sets intermingled for extra duration and tactics. DS9 is an absolute master at it.

Bunnybigears · 25/11/2019 22:52

My 9 year old loves it he got it last Christmas it's still downstairs as we play it that much. My 12 year old isnt keen but then he isnt keen on human interaction at all.

Airplanes · 25/11/2019 22:56

I like it. Rhino hero is a good family game too

gnushoes · 25/11/2019 22:58

Fluxx is great - ours like the Adventure Time one.

NCTDN · 29/11/2019 07:36

If you're interested, exploding kittens is £12 on Amazon today.

northerngirl2012 · 29/11/2019 07:39

Love these suggestions! Try Dos, we love it.

AngelOfDeathNix · 29/11/2019 10:29

We enjoy it, but the one that is getting played more at the moment is Sleeping Queens.

OverthinkingThis · 29/11/2019 10:37

I like exploding kittens but tbh the adult/NSFW edition is much funnier than the family one, but obviously not suitable for the ages of your DC.

timetomoveon · 29/11/2019 11:30

We like it!
If you want something more complex, then backpacker is an excellent card game

VegHead3000 · 29/11/2019 23:46

If anyone who didn’t like it wants to flog their game, please would you PM me? We love it, but the dog ate half the pack of cards Confused
Thanks!

TheNestedIf · 30/11/2019 00:38

We love it. DP got us the expansion pack with the Collar Of Shame for the person who goes out first for added hilarity.

I was literally just looking at the Streaking Kittens expansion as DP, DPSon and I are likely to be sitting round playing cards a lot on Christmas Day.
