Second hand shops and charity shops often have fabulous old ones. I’m lioking for a secondhand solid oak one for new house.

Gumtree. A beautiful G-plan extending table and six chairs for under £300.

BuckingFrolics · 26/11/2019 07:57

eBay. Stunning solid oak. 245 quid.

PragmaticWench · 26/11/2019 07:58

Ebay. It's really solid wood, square but folds open to a rectangle. Came with eight chairs and four stay in the shed until we have guests.

I've used my dad and his trailer (good old dad!) to collect ebay furniture before, even hiring a van works out much less than buying new.

Pottery barn

eBay. We got a Mcintosh mid-century table which has an insert that slides away when not in use. It’s perfect for 4 for everyday or 6+ when extended for when we have guests.

badfurday · 26/11/2019 08:02

We got ours from a local independent furniture shop.
As others have said though, eBay, Facebook, wayfair, the range, barker and stone house, next, dunelm, John Lewis etc.

Auberjean · 26/11/2019 08:33

Look for second hand. There are loads on local Facebook pages and similar.

An ex ikea table from ebay, Norden I think, it extends. Nearly all dining tables are wooden and extend though!
