Alternative to air bed for guests?

EachandEveryone · 25/11/2019 08:32

Has to be reasonable and easy to store. Three teenagers coming to stay. I have one air bed and don’t really want another. Any ideas what will be comfy and reasonable. Not too comfy that they won’t get up though!Smile

Futon? They can take up quite a bit of space though - definitely more than an airbed. And probably more expensive.

Or perhaps a roll mat like a camping one.

Inflatable sleeping mats, the thin kind that take about 10 breaths.

Damntheman · 25/11/2019 09:26

Agree, get the inflatable sleeping mats they're brilliant!

Foldable mattresses. They do take up more space than inflatable ones, but are so much nicer for guest beds. Can be used as chairs in teen rooms.

Ikea do folded mattresses that can be used to sit on when not in use. I have 2 and they make a great impromptu bed.

I don’t drive so Ikea won’t work.

Depending on how much you want to spend, I’m going to buy this www.argos.co.uk/product/7986093 for my kids to use when visiting relatives. Last time we visited my dad he swore he had camping mattresses for them to sleep on - they were about an inch thick and the poor kids were so uncomfortable Sad

BIWI · 25/11/2019 09:53

You can buy from IKEA online though, can't you?

inwood · 25/11/2019 09:58

IKEA deliver for £30 I think. We have a couple of z beds from Argos that fit in our loft hatch and are surprisingly comfortable.

theoriginalmadambee · 25/11/2019 11:52

What the actual...? I'm in Scandinavia (not Sweden), we can buy the slägt one for what is equivalent to £50. What a rip off.

VenusClapTrap · 25/11/2019 11:57

I have one of these. We take it camping. It’s very comfortable.

Ask if they have their own air bed they could bring along? Then you dont have to keep and store one and also save the expense. Most families have an air bed or 2 knocking around.

BringOnTheScience · 25/11/2019 12:51

Teenagers can doss down on the floor. Seriously. They'll be fine.

AfterSomeAdvice1234 · 25/11/2019 15:29

These look rubbish but my god are they comfy!
