Adult Christmas Games and family game suggestions

We have cards against humanity but would like another fun and interactive game for Christmas Day. 5 adults.

I am also looking to buy a couple of games as gifts.

One for a family friend - 2 adults and their 12 year old son.

One for close family who have 6 and 9 year old children.

Any recommendations please?

Thank you

I have been recommended "Simon".

If you enjoy Cards Against Humanity, look at Pick Your Poison

Really Nasty Horse Racing Game Grin for the adults, if they can handle the stress.

Exploding Kittens for the 6 and 9 year old.

Dobble for the younger ones.

I just bought Obama Llama (2nd edition) for us to play on Xmas Day.

@30not13 just remembered we have dibble unused!

Thanks

An escape room game? Not done one myself yet but have done the real thing and they're great fun

I've gone ahead and bought pick your poison!

@DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel would exploding kittens be suitable for the 12 year old?

There are two versions of exploding kittens a regular one and a not safe for work one. I think the regular one would be fine for a 12 year old Smile
We also love Obama llama & articulate (I'm sure you can get a junior version). We played a game called don't panic the other day which has a simple version for younger ones & the full version for adults! It was great fun for 4 adults.

Scribble Head is REALLY good for all ages. It’s basically a white board that attaches to your head on a head band. You choose a card and have to awkwardly draw a picture of whatever the card says on your forehead. Everyone has to guess what you were trying to draw!
It always creates loads of laughter and joy in our house!!

ScribblyGum · 27/11/2019 09:03

Codenames and Camel Up are big favourites in our house.

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel · 27/11/2019 23:35

Yes Exploding kittens and the expansion packs (but NOT the NSFW edition!) Would be fine for 12 y/o - I'd say all from 7-adult can enjoy it.

My two first played when they were 7 & 9 I think? They're 10 & nearly 13 now and still play regularly.

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel · 27/11/2019 23:36

Also, Sushi Go is fun for all.

Elbowedout · 28/11/2019 00:58

Anomia and Cockroach Poker are very popular in our house at the moment.

Joking Hazard is quite a good one. It's by the Cyanide And Happiness lot and a bit like a more visual Cards Against Humanity.

Glad you started this thread, Thisismyusernamefornow as we're also scouting around for things to start WWIII games.

I second PP with Articulate! It's so much fun!!
