Winter virus lurgy moaning thread

Safe space to whinge about feeling like shite.

DS and I both went to bed at 7pm (together in my bed). He has an inhaler and was quite wheezy but he slept sitting up which helped.

I have a raging sore throat, headache, huge amounts of gunk and feel sick. Touch wood no vomit yet. I have a chronic illness too, so feel utterly shite.

Please add your moans here!

Get well soon OP 💐. Stay in bed

I hate it hate it hate it. DD had a horrendous cold last week, which she gave to DS, it went to his chest and he's finishing antibiotics and has new inhalers. I've not slept properly for ages, so obviously now I'm ill. I feel like there's a giant ball of sticky gunk sitting at the bottom of my lungs that I can't get rid of and I'm so so tired. Waaaah. Roll on spring already.

Chosennonetosurvive · 25/11/2019 07:18

Day 6 of mine and its all coming out of me! Snotty sneezing and wheezing coughing! Ache all over too! Got to work as had 2 days off with last week when vomiting Sad

We're just coming out the other side of this after SIX FUCKING WEEKS of illness. Started with DS1 coughing, raging temperature, sore throat, and vomiting. It lasted around five days for most of the symptoms but the cough stayed for three weeks. I caught it, then DS2, then both DDs, then DH. DD1 is coming to end of her three weeks of coughing, I'm hoping this is all of it out if the way and they'll now be bug free until Spring.

Bluewavescrashing · 25/11/2019 08:00

Get well soon everyone. Netflix is broken this morning and DS can't cope with free view only, the precious mite. 🙄

Happy days. I may buy everyone coffee to make them less pissed off with me! And if they don't want it, I can drink it......

loserssaywhat · 25/11/2019 08:28

It's horrid I really feel your pain. We had it for 3 weeks in total in our house. My dd still spiking temperatures 4 weeks later.
It seems to start easing off and then comes back with a vengeance! You have my sympathies!
I found lots of warm drinks and herbal tea really helped my throat and chest, and hot, steamy showers. Feel better soon!

Seashell80 · 25/11/2019 08:50

We are living in the plague house! Colds started over a month ago and now it is hacking coughs and bad chests all round 🤧🤒😷

vampirethriller · 25/11/2019 08:55

We've been up all night (baby and me) with the vomiting and diarrhoea, had to take the dog her walk this morning, I feel like I've been dug up. Can't cope with the washing! It's making the flat damp and I'm fed up. We're attempting some toast. So far so good.

Inthemoment38 · 25/11/2019 09:05

DD has had a sickness bug per week for the last 3 weeks and now I've started vomiting 🤮 Eurgh.

Sparklingbrook · 25/11/2019 09:06

I had the cough/cold thing about a month ago. The cough has decided to hang around. When I speak I cough, when I eat I cough. Had enough now.
Answering the phone at work is a joy as you can imagine.

Bluewavescrashing · 25/11/2019 13:19

I just totally lost the plot with DH (who is working from home today) over baked beans of all things. Had a blotchy ugly cry and feel a bit calmer now. Ugh.

Had a crap nights sleep and have awoken with a stuffy nose and the most obnoxious sore throat - yuk!

Also have a chronic illness so feel for you OP.

In work today but not really in the room - get well soon everyone!

Bluewavescrashing · 25/11/2019 13:32

Thanks @BourbonAndTea sorry you're suffering too.

I'm waiting for some test results and feeling really anxious hence having a big cry. Trying to get some sleep now while DS watches a film.

Sympathise from a fellow chronic illness sufferer Blue. The cry was probably well overdue.
I had a minor cold last week that's turned into laryngitis so I'm in bed. Fortunately everyone's out so I can feel sorry for myself in peace.
