What cocktails out of these ingredients?

I’ve got a house full at Christmas and a sadly overlooked drinks cabinet. Anyone want to tell me what I can conjur up out of this lot without buying anything more than mixers or inexpensive additions?

Limoncello
Bacardi
Bols (massive unopened bottle)
Port
Masala
Madeira
Gin (loads, many varieties including violet)
Honey liqueur
Chambord
Brandy
Kirsch
Pimms
Pimms blackberry
Angostura
Rum
Advocat

Thank you!

Get some prosecco and make "champagne" cocktails with the prosecco, brandy and angostura bitters.
Pink gin with angostura bitters and tonic.
Or Pimms royale with prosecco.
Chilled white port is a nice aperitif.
Use red port or madeira if making red cabbage.

Yeah I know. But that’s mostly because it’s stuff we’ve had as gifts or purchased on a whim and I have no bloody clue what else to do with. The massive bols was a gift from an overseas visitor. The limoncello was for a desert and 3/4 sitting festering.

The reality is we both have the odd beer and that’s about it. But I’d like to use these things up! I’m hosting the whole family so seems like a good opportunity I hope!

Port in my cabbage - sorted.
And lots to mix with prosecco!

Should i clean the sink with the bols?

Get experimenting 😁 some crushed ice, prosecco and soda and you'll have lots of your own cocktails in no time.

I would put the kirsch chambord and an gin liqueurs with prosecco.

I'd use the bacardi to make some lime jelly shots.

I'd use the limoncello to soak jelly babies and make boozy ones.

Then I'd probably try make a.summer punch concoction with the pimms and fruit!

Ooh and cheeky vimtos...forgot what they are...Blue bols and port maybe?

I also enjoy a purple rain which is cherry sours (could use kirsch?) Blue.bols and lemonade :)

Tip the rum, brandy, port, marsala and madeira in a bucket, add lemonade, add slices of orange and lemon and serve as a punch. Throw in a few cinnamon sticks, glace cherries and glace ginger cubes if you want to add spice. Light the glasses on fire for effect. If it sounds like a bit much, cover it up and save it for the days after (you'll need it if you have a houseful)

You will have to work out the proportion of alcohol to lemonade you want. Last time I did this sort of thing to my taste, a barbecue got very merry, very quickly.

Actually I’ve got a dusty bunch bowl and glasses in the loft which someone got us eons ago when we got married - I may be able to use both so doubly resourceful!

I’ve got 12 for Xmas eve, 12 Xmas day, 16 Boxing Day..... 😱

You can download apps that give you ideas if you put in your inventory of drinks - I use Cocktails Guru and Cheatsheet at Christmas and New Year.

Our best ever cocktail was one my mum called the Knicker Dropper - gin, cherry jam, lemonade, tequila and bourbon. We had those last New Year and they were really lovely, but potent!

I also have a bottle of limoncello that's outstayed it's welcome. I bought it probably 10-15 years ago for about a fiver at Gibraltar airport and I've used it in trifle, lemony creamy pudding shots (I know you said cocktails but maybe use the limoncello and marsala at least in puddings, tirimisu) as well as drinking it on ice or with fizzy wine and it's still not empty.

As far as the other stuff goes, I'd keep it simple. If you get tonic, lemonade and soda water, plus a couple of bags of ice for the freezer they will go with a lot of what you've got. If you do want to be more cocktaily, fruit juices as well.

Your problem is that many cocktails include vodka or sparkling wine and you don't have those, which excludes many recipes without buying more booze and slowing down the use up rate of the stuff you want to get rid of.
