Been suffering for about 6 months now and I'm in agony, sitting hurts, bending hurts, having s poo has me in tears

At first I thought I had piles and I tried every over the counter product available and they didn't touch it after 8 weeks of agony I went to the doctors who said it was piles and gave me Sheri pot suppository and that offered some relief and I thought things were improving when back to doctors for another prescription and now can't get sheripot as problem with supplier Sad so she gave me anusol despite me telling her over the counter stuff didn't work 2 weeks later I went back saw a different doctor who said it wasn't piles it as a fissure and gave me some cream

But it's not getting better, my bum hurts for hours and hours after a poo, sitting really hurts, everything hurts

Anyone got any advice? I'm already taking softeners etc but it's just not healing and after 6 months I'm desperate

Assuming you’ve tried diltiazem cream then go back to GP and ask to be referred to colorectal. They will arrange for you to have Botox, which usually sorts it.

You poor thing, I had one it was agony. I drank loads of water and lived on weetabix with milk which helped. There was blood and everything. It cleared up after a few weeks as it just healed on its own. What you have sounds awful and possibly a worse tear than I had. I think mine happened because I was so dehydrated and constipated from so much binge drinking at uni. Good luck op and I hope you get the right treatment you need.

Diltiazam ?? I haven't had this, but I will definitely ask for it

Yes I get bleeding to, also got a huge skin tag that's really sore and swollen st the moment

I have no idea how it started one day I just had a bowl movement and it was agony and has been ever since

I have one as I have crohns. I recently had a course of steroids for my crohns and it healed the fissure up quickly. Nothing else made much difference before that. The pain was excruciating. It felt like it went to my bones. Good luck. My GP had said if I wasnt better in a few weeks she would refer me to the hospital for an examination. Eventually I went to a private GP but didnt need the referral because I got the prednisolone.

Have you tried Hemoclin? I had a chronic fissure and nothing worked. Someone suggested Hemoclin and it worked after just 2 doses. I had the same as you - the little skin tag next to it, it's called a sentinel pile and it's your body's way of trying to heal it.

If you've tried Hemoclin, then do to back to the GP and ask to be referred on for investigation.

It’s horrific. I had one for 3 weeks so I can’t imagine having one for 6 months.

Are you having lactulose as well as the softeners?

The only other thing I can recommend is glycerine suppositories. You put them up your bottom and they make you go so you don’t have to strain which I found really helped. Also sitting in a hot bath.

Good luck Flowers

I had one for a very long time after childbirth-absolute agony. I was given a cream & those fibre drinks by GP. That worked but don't remember name of cream, sorry!
Keep seeing GP is my advice. Different GPs have different areas of expertise

Hi user096378

I was just curious if your anal fissure healed? I am in the same boat, have been for 16 months now and it’s a nightmare. Hopefully you are better. I would love to hear if and how you healed yours.

Thanks
