Am need to binge watch some food tv - have recently watched "when they see us" and "the haunting of hill house". I love programmes that make you look forward to the next instalment and I'd be grateful for your recommendations!

The obvious one is Stranger Things. I also love The Good Place, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Once Upon A Time.

We've just started watching Glitch, which is looking promising so far. Daybreak is supposed to be good as well. DH has enjoyed Black Spot.

On the lighter side of things, The Good Place, Atypical, Brooklyn 99.

If you don't mind subtitles, Rita is really good, and we've just started Bonus Family.

GoKartMozart · 26/11/2019 16:06

A good 'quickie' is Living With Yourself with Paul Rudd. Brilliant little series. Funny and half an hour episodes.

Yeahnahyeah1 · 26/11/2019 16:06

Mindhunter, You and The Devil Next Door

For something lighter, Brooklyn 99

MustardScreams · 26/11/2019 16:08

You is very good and the new series is out on a Boxing Day so you won’t have long to wait.
When They See Us is amazing.
Peep Show is brilliant and everyone should see it once.

gingajewel · 26/11/2019 16:13

Orange is the new black
American horror
Breaking bad
Stranger things
Pesky blinders
You
Pablo Escobar (I cant remember what it’s called)
I’ve also found an unhealthy love of American prison series through Netflix, girls in prison and 60 days in especially!

The Kominsky Method —Michael Douglas as a failed actor turned respected acting coach, trading wits and pathos with his agent, Alan Arkin. Some brilliant writing.

So many! Of those not yet mentioned

Movies to watch- the frozen ground and fractured!

PrimeraVez · 26/11/2019 17:12

Money Heist is one of my favorite things I’ve watched in years
Dynasty (even trashier remake of the original, total guilty pleasure)
Selling Sunset (reality Tv show about real estate agents in Hollywood, so trashy but watchable!)
Elite (assuming you don’t mind subtitles - I would recommend watching it in Spanish with subtitles, rather than dubbed in English)
Orange is the New Black
Call of Duty
And of course, there’s always Friends

MerryDeath · 26/11/2019 17:22

dead like me
unbelievable
criminal
aaaamd this programme... mmm i haven't got netflix right now so can't see the name.... it was about a boy in NYC(?)on a bike who was hit by a car... police procedural but very legal and and interesting racial slant. it was very good i got quite engrossed. has a serious looking black lady in a snowy landscape (a DA in the story i think?) on the 'cover'.
I'm due a return to netflix as i like to rotate my service as i don't have time for everything so i'll keep watching!

Makesmilingyourbesthobby · 26/11/2019 17:35

Bates motor
How to get away with murder
High seas
Zoo
The crown
Working moms

motorcyclenumptiness · 26/11/2019 17:52

Agree with pp about the Kominsky Method. Also Call My Agent and Schitt's Creek. I liked Huge in France too (but mainly because Gad looks spookily like my Dad when he was young).

skippy67 · 26/11/2019 18:42

Homeland. Ozarks.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 26/11/2019 19:01

The Glitch is good - 3 series now.
OA - but a bit weird and you have to persevere with it.
Travellers is excellent.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 26/11/2019 19:10

Marianne - it’s terrifying. That’s if you don’t mind subtitles after a while you don’t notice them (it’s french)

Along with others on here especially Happy Valley
