Anyone's dc into music production?? Present idea for dd13

She loves music and making videos. I'm trying to think of something good i could get her for xmas. Are those mixing desks you plug into your laptop any good? Or is there any must-have beginners software? Any ideas welcome?

DS1 is. I'll ask him some good makes in a minute but he's in the middle of watching a film with his friends.
He's had computer plug in desks in the past which he was happy with. He has lots of modular stuff - you get a basic bit of kit then you can keep adding to it. A good quality microphone was also a big hit.

It's such a great hobby and a brilliant idea for a Christmas present. DS has had modules for Christmas and birthday over several years and now has some really impressive professional gear. It adds up.

That would be fab, thank you. I am literally clueless.
