I have been picking away at a ukelele for about a year. Just playing along with youtube videos. Its coming along but I'm no virtuoso. Its relaxing for me but probably no one else. I like an hour or so on sunday but I feel aware it's getting on peoples nerves.
Do I sit in the cupboard?
We dont have much room. And I cant find NY local clubs...
Any ideas.

Digital piano, late at night with earphones 😉

Tenor horn, brass band. Practice almost daily. Thank goodness we live in a detached house!

When I started learning piano, I used to practise on a morning after the school run. Dh works from home but upstairs, and I’d be in the music room so didn’t feel too self conscious. It’s hard learning as an adult though, and I gave up after about a year, sadly.

Preferably a room without shared walls, and as in the middle of the day as you can make it ;) I used to be a professional musician; cello, recorders, piano. I practiced every day for hours but I'd try my hardest to do it when nobody else was in, 10am-4pm, if that wasn't possible I wouldn't start before 10am and I wouldn't go on past 7.30pm.
