Does your child look like their name?

6 month old DD has a beautiful name, a little "princessy" for some people, but I love it. For some reason though, the past couple weeks, I keep looking at her and thinking "You look like an Eliza."

I've no plans on changing it, but just for fun.. does your child look like their name or do you think maybe they're secretly someone else? Hmm Grin

One does, one doesn't.
The one that does really is kind of the epitome of someone with that name!
We picked her name before we even conceived her.

I think children grow into their names. There are a few other names that I sometimes think would suit mine, but I definitely think they both look like their names now.

When my oldest was a baby, she was a proper rosy cheeked smiley happy chunker and I kept thinking that was exactly what a Jemima would look like!

It's so strange how names have faces in our heads, isnt it?

I could have written this myself. Today I was looking at my 7 month old and thinking how much more he looks like his middle name. I'm seriously considering switching them round but think it's too late now?!

He does, but then he was named when he was two so he had already developed his little personality.

I knew a chap once who was definitely not called Adam but my goodness he looked like one. I was always calling him it in error and he said it happened often that other people called him Adam - I mean that's weird.

Ooh I've definitely met a few Dave's, who aren't called Dave Grin

Thinking about it I've never even met an Eliza to know what one looks like Hmm

One looks enough like a famous character namesake sufficiently well to have won the book day prize for his class with minimal effort of costuming Grin

They both have long-term popular, traditional names that should suit most people

Glad i’m not the only one that thinks like this! My son definitely looks like his name. I also had two other choices. One I could definitely see him as but the other, definitely not.

DS has a highly unique name, I don’t think anyone else in the uk has it so I couldn’t tell you if he looks like his name. But dd does, she suits her name well 😊
