My son and tights

My son (10) was freezing last week. He asked me if there was anything he could wear under his jeans to keep his legs warm. He told me he wore his sports under amour under his jeans, and it didn't help! My daughter (12) told him that socks that go over his knees or thick tights could do the trick. He wants to give both long socks and tights a try. Where can I find boys socks that go over his knees, and should he wear tights under his jeans? It's only going to get even colder! Thanks!

No problem with him using tights IMO but you can also get thermal long johns which should help?

Order ski long johns from decathlon.

I'd buy long johns/thermal leggings personally. I have worn tights under jeans, but i don't think they feel as warm.

Rugby socks on top of tights?

I know quite a lot of unreconstructed rural men of a certain age who swear by tights, as they don't add as much bulk as long johns.

Aldi have skiing base layers and ski socks in at the moment. DS (also 10) wears them under sports kit or if it’s really cold!

Sainsbo do some really thick and warm fleece-lined thermal tights, he could try them.

Or thermal leggings, but I find that they tend to roll up at the ankles, which is a bit uncomfortable and annoying

OP here. Thank you for the suggestions! He will try a pair of his sister's cotton tights, because he has said that he doesn't like how leggings/under armor bunch up near his ankles with regular socks. If he doesn't like the tights, are there any socks that you recommend that go above his knees to keep him warm?
