DD went for a trial day last week. as I understood it was supposed to include the tests and an 'interview' with the head. from what DD says, she didn't have any 1on1 time with the head or any other teacher. does this mean that they decided not to take her, so didn't bother with the interview??

I find out next week, but it's really stressing me out. thought I would ask here, as I have no experience of private ed (ye 4 if that I'd relevant)

No I think the parents meet the head and the kids do tests and trial classroom day?

TrainspottingWelsh · 23/11/2019 22:07

It's quite possible she did have an interview with the head but it was so informal she didn't realise.

oh is it @dontknowdontknow? I've got an appointment to see head on Monday. maybe I just misunderstood

I think it's very good she doesn't know. It is much better when they just think they had a play. I am sure mine who went to private school a that age didn't think a play session was any big deal - who would want the child to feel stressed anyway. I went to a school and played with some nice toys is what you want to hear, better than I hit every child there on the head or I pulled the crayons away from the others and tore up the drawing paper.

I would just not worry about it. My second didn't get into her sister's school at 5 but got into just sa good a school. It all works out fine in the end.

she said that she didn't speak to the head all day @TrainspottingWelsh

@xenia unfortunately the reason I am trying to get her into private school is because it has all gone very very horribly wrong. I particularly want her at this school. it's nerve wracking

for what kind of reasons do they not get accepted? would it only be the academics?
