Sickness bug and breastfeeding

I've come down with a bug, since yesterday I can't hold down food and only some liquid.
High temp too.
I'm worried it's going to affect my breastfeeding if I'm unable to keep anything down? ☹️

If your supply is established it won’t be affected by a bug.

Make sure you drink as much as you can to keep hydrated.

Hope you feel better soon.

Starving, malnourished women all over the world manage to produce healthy and sufficient amounts of breastmilk, you’re supply will be fine for a one off sickness bug.

Plus you are passing on your antibodies to lo, so providing important protection for him/her.

Thank you!! Milk is established so that's put my mind at ease.

Drink Dioralyte or glass of water (250 ml) with teaspoon sugar and pinch salt. Drink approx one glass per hour - sipping.
Hope you feel better soon Flowers

I had horrendous norovirus whilst breastfeeding earlier in the year. I caught it from my baby so it was really important that I kept feeding her because she had been incredibly sick and was dehydrated. I just lay on my side feeding with her on a towel to catch her vomit and whenever I felt I was going to be sick I ran to the bathroom and my husband held the baby. We just put a fresh towel down whenever she was sick. I just kept sipping water even though I didn’t feel like I was keeping anything down. Worst 48 hours of my life but my supply wasn’t affected. It took it out of me rather than my milk. Hope you feel better soon.

@ChaoticKate Oh god that sounds awful!
Thankfully baby hasn't been sick just me so I'm hoping he avoids that bit.
