I've just found out today that my half-sister has terminal pancreatic cancer, she's only in her early 50s with teenage children 
She had quite aggressive breast cancer in her early 40s.
Her oncologist has suggested she have genetic tests as having two different cancers in such a short time is unusual.
We aren't close as we didn't know each other for most of our lives and she lives on the other side of the country. We don't speak often (often years go by) so I'd feel quite awkward expecting her to tell me the outcome of her own tests.
Our father died from pancreatic cancer a couple of years ago and one of his sisters died in her 50s from breast cancer.
Has anyone had private genetic testing?
If so, which company did you use and how much did it cost?
