Family friendly restaurant in Manchester

We are braving the weather today to go to the Manchester Christmas markets.

While in Manchester we want to go for a meal, as it was DS2’s first birthday yesterday. I’d like to go somewhere fun and family friendly, DS1 is 5.

I was thinking somewhere like Hard Rock, as I’ve heard it’s good fun for kids, but not sure if I fancy burgers etc.

Any recommendations please?

Ah sorry I should have been clear, I’m looking for somewhere in the city centre as we are going on the train.

If you’re in the mood for pizza or pasta then Croma is amazing - we’ve been going with our kids since they were babies and they love it. It’s also right near the town hall so not too much of a trek from the markets.

There’s TGIFs at the Royal Exchange (but be warned, you may need to ring and book because it’s always busy)

The NQ has Yard and Coop, they do a lovely kids menu and staff are brilliant. And Dough Pizza Kitchen is spacious, with excellent crisp pizzas, plus will make the kids’ ones into shapes (DS5 was SO impressed).

I was very impressed recently by TGI Friday in Manchester recently. Hadn't been to.one for 20 years. As for eating places you will be spoilt for choice.

Bundobust is great, near Piccadilly station but not good if you have prams as it's down a steep flight of steps.
