I thought it might be good to have a collection of favourite tingle inducing videos!

The unintentional ones are best imo.

Heres my favourite:

Ugh no I hate it.

spacepyramid · 21/11/2019 11:48

What is ASMR?

No thanks! You get that with anxiety at times and it's horrible.

Sparklingbrook · 21/11/2019 20:09

I like some of them but hate any tapping or noises like crinkly paper or whispering. There's one where someone cleans a suit which I quite like. Blush

EnidButton · 21/11/2019 20:18

Space it's a totally different feeling to the anxiety one. It's very peaceful. Bit like a really deep meditation feeling might be, even if you don't get the 'tingling' part. Tbh people either get it (as in physically) or they don't but might like the relaxing part of it.

I found out about ASMR through mumsnet and it was really helpful for sleep issues and anxiety. Now I have it on in the background just to relax. I like whispering videos best but not keen on tapping or microphone brushing. WhispersRed is very good.

FreeBedForFlys · 21/11/2019 20:28

Ooh I also like this lady...

ASMR is the reason I sleep again. Not link as I couldn’t pick one just one but anything by jellybeangreen. Particularly love her latest audio only video and her medical experimentations. Quite like some of Scottish murmurs aswell.

LoonyLunaLoo · 21/11/2019 20:30

Urgh the ones with whispering and eating make me want to read h into the screen and strangle them 🤢 can’t stand mouth noises!

CalamityJune · 21/11/2019 20:31

I love ASMR! I was very early to the party so have seen it blossom over the past 6-7 years!

GentleWhispering and WhispersRedASMR are my favourites but there are loads I could mention.

CalamityJune · 21/11/2019 20:31

@Heyduggeefordays ScottishMurmurs is ace

I'm a bit of an addict. This one is simple and lovely:

This lady is generally lovely too:

I don't like lip-smacking/making weird mouth noises or stroking textured things ones myself, but I know it's horses for courses!

doublebarrellednurse · 21/11/2019 20:36

I have a standard search on YouTube of

ASMR Tascam no talking

Echobelly · 21/11/2019 20:38

NB, I discovered it after DD was born nearly 12 years ago - all that advice about 'sleep when the baby sleeps' was useless in the daytime as I need to know I won't be disturbed for a good long while in order to drop off, and neither of mine had predictable naps - they could be 20 minutes or two hours! So I discovered relaxation videos and used 10-min long ones to deeply relax and it really was like having a 40-min nap with a good one. Luckily they were both fairly good night sleepers, so I was seldom flat-out exhausted.

I don't give out too much advice to new parents, but this is one tip I always share

FreeBedForFlys · 21/11/2019 20:43

I used a Fitbit for a while recently and tracking my heart rate, was amazed at how much it slowed during asmr. Naturally I have a fairly rapid heart rate; 80 on average.

One minute of ASMR saw it plummet to 60. ASMR stopped - back up to 80. Repeatedly. Incredible.

I just looked at a couple of the videos, it's just that guided relaxation that has been around for years with a little extra then?

I've never been able to do those, I just can't switch off enough to do it.

readysteadylook · 21/11/2019 20:47

I like listening to asmr eating. I find it relaxing, although if I was in the same room as that person listening to them eat, it would annoy me.

Candace19 · 21/11/2019 20:50

Love love love it all - hair stroking, food, massage

FreeBedForFlys · 21/11/2019 20:54

Ooh yes massage.... this lady’s voice....

FreeBedForFlys · 21/11/2019 20:55

It’s not just guided relaxation. It’s ASMR. You either get it or you don’t.

OP posts:
spacepyramid · 21/11/2019 20:59

I guess I don't.
