Ok so im new to driving and im taking my first solo trip away next week. My flight is from stansted at 8:45am. Im planning on staying at premier inn the night before the flight so i havent got to drive early in the morning. I will leave my car there for the duration of the trip and pick it up after as people do lol. Um but i am just a bit confused. I put the check in date as the date before i am flying which is fine, and i put my check out date as the date i land. As i will want to drive home straight after. But when the page confirming the details comes up, it says ' Check in from 3pm and check out by 12 noon '
So check in at 3pm thats no problem, but when it says check out 12 noon, does that mean my car needs to be out of their car park by 12 noon? My flight lands late in the evening so it would be way past 12 noon. Do i need to pay for another night just so i can keep my car there past noon that day?

I'm confused - are you leaving your car in the premier inn car park?

How far do you live from the airport?

JollyAndBright · 21/11/2019 09:54

That sounds like it just means while you are staying at the hotel you can pay £8 to park your car in their car park.

You need a hotel that specifically does what most refer to as “park and fly” it usually includes a taxi trip to and from the airport, parking in a long stay car park for the duration of your holiday and a single nights stay in the hotel.

It sounds like Long Stay is either the official airport Long Stay car park, or a section of the Premier Inn car park that is used for long stay, while people are not staying at the hotel but leave their car there.

The check in time will be for the hotel room and long stay will refer to how long you leave your car there. Is there a phone number for the hotel so you can ask them how it works?

Which website are you booking on? It could be that you drive to the hotel on the evening before your flight, stay in the hotel, and the next morning you have to drive to the official airport long stay carpark, leave your car there and go to the terminal, usually on a transfer bus that loops between the airport and carpark.

Make sure you know what you actually need to do and leave enough time, because it can take longer than you think to find a space in a long stay car park and get the bus to the terminal.

I’ve just had a look on the premier inn website and it clearly says you can book parking in the airport long stay carpark (so the proper official airport car park) as an extra at the end of the hotel booking process.

Limited on-site parking is available for the night of your stay only, there is no long stay parking available at this hotel. The cost of parking is £8 and is payable at reception.
A shuttle bus runs between the hotel and the airport every 30 mins at a cost of £3 per adult (free for children). The last departure from the hotel is 00:45, restarting at 03:45. The last departure from the airport is 01:00, restarting at 04:00. Not operational on Christmas Day. During the Christmas period these hours may differ.
Airport parking, lounge access and other great add-ons are available through our partner, Holiday Extras, after booking your hotel.

So just book your hotel for the one night before the flight, add on the airport parking and When you get there you’ll have to drive from the hotel to the airport car park before your flight.

If it is long stay parking then you need to drive to long stay car park on day of flight if that's when you have booked it from . Then catch the shuttle bus to airport and shuttle to car park on day of return . We travel from Stansted often . If we book premier inn we usually book meet and greet parking . So stay at prem inn night before flight Pay £8 parking at prem inn . Day of flight take car across to meet and greet , book it in and car is waiting on return . Hope this helps .
