If you win tickets for something but it was on a school day 😳 and then school are strict about attendance ?
For context attendance is 100% but they won’t authorise absence for anything like days out holidays and I know fines are possible aren’t they ?

Or would you appeal to their good nature and hope they say it’s ok ?

Congrats on your win! I would ring the prize givers & see if there is any chance of changing to a different date, if at all possible. If not, let the school know & enjoy!

I wouldn't ask for permission I would simply write stating they would not be in on that day . You are unlikely to get a fine for 1 day

You won’t get a fine. You have to miss a series of consecutive sessions to be fined. Lots of my parents take the children on Monday lunchtime and they don’t come back until the next week to avoid the fine.

As others, I'd just take DC out for the day and tell school the truth. Highly unlikely that you will be fined.
