Shark vs Dyson

Hi all.

The Shark DuoClean cordless with flexology and the Dyson v7 are both at the same price on Black Friday deals (£199). Does anyone have any experience of either they can share to sway me to getting one of these. Thank you

We've had both ans in terms of sheer ease of use, it's Shark every time.

and in terms

Shark all the way. Knocks spots off the Dyson.

I love my shark and hated my dyson.

BloodyCats · 20/11/2019 21:06

Shark all the way. I have a shark and love it. Have used several dysons while cleaning and find them very heavy and not easy to use.

thetinytyrantsmother · 20/11/2019 21:06

I've got the dyson. My dp loves it, I find the suction to be a bit rubbish unless on max power which then reduces the battery life.

Have got friends that swear by their shark but I've never used one

HoneyandSpice · 20/11/2019 21:07

I've had my Dyson replaced twice in 18 months. The motor always runs out. Only me and DD at home. No pets.
Dyson simply isn't up to the job. I'm currently looking at the Shark no tangle hair one.

Shark!!! 🦈🦈🦈 I remember talking to a vacuum repair man who said most of his work involved Dysons. I had one years ago and wouldn't buy another. I also had a Meile for about 20 years and only replaced it with the Shark because I wanted an upright rather than cylinder.

iframedrogerrabbit · 20/11/2019 22:21

Thanks everyone. Looks like it'll be the shark! Is the one mentioned in the original post a good one, does anyone know? Pretty clueless over these things!

Definitely Shark! Didn’t think I could ever love a hoover but I do 😂

Toddlerteaplease · 20/11/2019 22:48

I love my dyson!

S0upertrooper · 20/11/2019 23:11

I don't have a cordless Shark, but if I were you I'd go into the shop and try them out to compare. I think I went to Comet and did this.

Planetzog · 20/11/2019 23:36

Hypocrite billionaire Brexiteer James Dyson has ditched Britain and moved his company to Singapore. I will never buy a Dyson product. And apparently they are shit anyway.

GreenTulips · 20/11/2019 23:38

I’ve had a Dyson and the shark beats it hands down - even the kids like using the Shark, bonus

ironickname · 20/11/2019 23:41

Neither. Miele is the best.

BloodyCats · 21/11/2019 07:41

I didn’t read the cordless bit in your op. Are there no corded ones on at a good price? I hate cordless, they are so not worth the money.

Jojo19834 · 21/11/2019 07:43

Had both, Shark totally wins. Completely underwhelmed with my Dyson v8 and the holding the power on constantly was a pain. Shark press and go. Also, not phaffing changing attachments when going from carpet to tile/wood. Press and go again! Love the pet hair attachment too, it’s brutal!

Jojo19834 · 21/11/2019 07:45

Also my shark is the duoclean flex one, so yes it is good

MustardScreams · 21/11/2019 07:45

I’m sure these Shark vs Dyson threads are planted by Shark employees.

Dyson is so so much better. I’ve got the v10 Absolute and it is hands down the best hoover I’ve ever had.

I would go with a more recent Dyson model. QVC have some really good offers on atm.

fromcitytocountry · 21/11/2019 09:59

I was given a Shark vacuum otherwise tbh I wouldn't have thought to buy one. But I can honestly say it's better than any other vacuum I've had before.
I have two cats and a dog and it's great for dealing with fluff and hair.

Mines not cordless but the base can be detached and become handheld.

Definitely go for it!

isabellerossignol · 21/11/2019 10:00

Shark for me too. Have had both and the Dyson was good but the Shark is amazing.
