Unintended Weight Loss

DoggyPaulAnka · 20/11/2019 19:41

I’ve always been very short and slim. In August this year I weighed 40 kg (my weight has always hovered around this point since being a teenager). I weighed myself this morning and I weigh 36kg, so I’ve lost 10% of my body weight in a few months without trying at all. Do I need to be worried?

I have been very anxious the last few months. I’ve also had a racing heart and feeling flushed and faint a few times the last few weeks. I’ve been tested for thyroid issues and other blood tests, all have come back fine. My eating patterns haven’t changed.

My GP doesn’t think it’s anything to worry about. I am worried though.

Your gp is more qualified than randomers on the internet.

Can I ask how old you are? Could you be menopausal?

I’m 28. I just can’t believe it’s normal to lose that much weight in such a few months.

I’ve had blood tests and blood sugar tests that have come back normal. I’ve just got it into my head that this could be pancreatic cancer. I don’t have any of the other symptoms of it though, just the dramatic weight loss.
