Second guessing party food

Party is 2pm- 430pm. I've got chocolate cake, loads of fruit (choc fondue), popcorn, crisps.

Would you expect your 8/9 year old Dc to be fed "proper" food at a party with that timing?

I wouldn't expect a meal at that time.
At a previous party where we weren't doing a meal I stated on invitations it was X activity followed by cake and ice cream.

A sandwich maybe, but I wouldn't expect them to have a meal.

I would expect maybe a few savoury nibbles

I wouldn't expect proper food.

Plus, with a chocolate fondue, I doubt any "real" food would actually get eaten :-)

Sexnotgender · 20/11/2019 09:36

I’d not expect proper food no. Sounds good.

Savoury nibbles... isn't popcorn/crisps savoury?

They'll also be making marshmallow towers, so I imagine a few will get eaten!

Phew, was worrying I'd have to go shopping again!
