How do I entertain my 9 week old

Help! She’s my third child so you think I would know this, but all of a sudden she doesn’t want to be put down and seems bored?
I am rushing around with the other 2, what can I do to put her down for a bit and keep her entertained

Playmat, bouncy chair or just put her in a sling and let her tag along with whatever you are doing?

You don’t entertain a 9 week old! She should be sleeping most of the day. With a bit of feeding and nappy changing in between.

Sling or bouncy chair where she can see the others.

I found an abridged version of Macbeth was always a winner.

Grin OP, you really don't need to entertain a 9 weeks old as such. We went on loads of walks, lots of singing, bouncy chair, lots of chatting etc. I think they just like to hear your voice and know you're there sometimes.

Newbie1981 · 19/11/2019 17:37

Erm, you don't

Like I said, it’s my third child so I’m not a total novice at this, but she does need to go somewhere whilst I sort out my others at times and she just screams if she’s not on me. It’s only just started this week, so I assumed she needed something to look at or something. She had a May and a bouncy chair which she has been fine with but since Friday if she isn’t asleep, she’s crying. And only stops if I hold her, I would love to sit and cuddle her all day but my other two need me aswell

My third has always been entertained by the older 2 rushing around! I’ve found number 3 much easier as I’m so busy with the older 2 I feel like he doesn’t need entertaining... he just rushes round along with us!
At that age mine was happy in his baby Bjorne bouncer watching the rest of us (he certainly didn’t sleep all day at 9 weeks).

This is where slings come into their own.

PotteringAlong · 19/11/2019 17:40

Sling. Not a baby Bjorn thing but a proper structured sling. Do you have a sling library near you where you can try one out and hire it for a bit. Have a google and get one. My third lived in the sling!

maidenover · 19/11/2019 17:43

Baby gym or a bouncy chair, at that age my DS loved to bounce himself up and down in his chair for a few mins.

It’s quite usual for a baby to start coming out of the always sleeping stage at this age.

Shookethtothecore · 19/11/2019 17:43

Thank you fellow third parents who understand. She deffo doesn’t sleep all day anymore. The other two are entertaining her for a second now, whilst I google slings

Baby swing?

PotteringAlong · 19/11/2019 17:45

Look for an integra, that kind of thing.

integrababy.co.uk/

If you want second hand (and there’s no reason why not!) if you look for a connecta they are basically the same thing. You will get lots at a decent price.

Shookethtothecore · 19/11/2019 17:47

Thank you. I’ll have a look. She is sleeping through the night, and has a good hour or so in the morning and afternoon but it’s like at tea time and bath time for the others I need her to let me put her down so I can sort them

Mine lived in Amawraps at this stage.
