I know the answer to this I think but just want to hear it

I'm 43, one dc who is 7. Desperately want another but have just suffered a traumatic miscarriage

I think I should call it a day now and give up..

Because of my age and the risk and the age gap with our dc and for preservation of my mental health .. I'm not sure I could go through it all again

That's all the head stuff.. but .. the heart is saying try again ☹️

It's so tough Thanks

It's only a decision you can make, perhaps some specific counselling to come to terms with the reality of your options and to be at peace which ever decision you make?

Yes counselling sounds good

Just wondering if anyone else had been in this position and what they decided

We were, and ultimately decided not to. We would have required some kind of intervention and similar to you, there was so much stacked against us.

Now we're through the other side and I've made my peace with it. We can provide for DS in a way we certainly couldn't for 2 DC and he is our sole focus.

In fact we had a small scare about 4 weeks ago. We don't use birth control as the chances of me falling pregnant now are so vanishingly small, coupled with the fact we're at that stage of our lives where we are not at it like rabbits every night, when I suddenly realised my period was very late (at least 10 days) Thankfully it appears that it was another sign of peri menopause, but for the time I wasn't sure I realised that I would be very upset now if I fell pregnant. Our life has moved on and I have zero desire to go back to the nappies and sleepless nights.

I'm sure this is little compensation to you now but I genuinely never imaging thinking I could be pregnant and being so upset by it Flowers
