'Ring' doorbell gone awol

Strange..

My wife heard an odd sound outside the front door, only to find our 'Ring' doorbell lying 5 feet away from its original position, on the floor in the driveway (it was only secured with sticky pads).

We then checked the footage to find a minutes worth of blank black screen.

If someone had pulled it off why didn't the footage show the perpetrator?

Rang the 'Ring' customer service centre and they couldn't fathom it either.

Thoughts?

It fell off and bounced to where you found it.

I don’t think ghost show up on cctv.
On a more serious note, maybe the sticky pads failed (possibly due to change in temperature, humidity) and the blank black screen recording was the footage filmed as the camera was falling and straight after because there would have been a motion even if the other way around.
Just a theory...

Came unstuck, fell and that's where it landed?

I just can't believe it bounced 5 feet on its own
