Thinking of going on one in Stockholm. However is it easy? Will I fall off? I've no coordination whatsoever and wouldn't want to make a tit of myself

Me! It's great fun, very easy. You will love it.

If it's a tour they should give you a bit of instruction first. But honestly, it's excellent fun and you will get the hang of it in no time.

Do it!

Ooh sound positive. No chance I can fall off it or anything?

You certainly can fall off them. It isn't uncommon.

Celebelly · 18/11/2019 20:42

It's really easy to pick up. You'll feel a bit out of control for the first 5 mins and then you'll be whizzing about just fine! You can't really fall off as you can just step off it, and when you straighten up it stops anyway.

Hated it!!!

Celebelly · 18/11/2019 20:43

You also won't be going that fast until you're feeling comfortable with it so you won't be in any high-speed collisions! Even top speed isn't exactly blistering.

A friend took a nasty fall from one and cracked her ribs.(Thankfully before I'd plucked up the courage/stupidity to try it myself because I have zero coordination and poor balance.)

Love having fun on a Segway. I’m mid 40’s and thought it would be difficult and I’d look a fool but they are great fun.

soontobeanana · 18/11/2019 21:15

Just go really slowly until you get the hang of it. You control he speed. I have no co-ordination but I quickly got the hang of it -it's fun! Don't get too carried away though, my friend tried doing spins and fell off. His trousers got caught in the wheels and he hurt his leg quite badly.

Letsnotusemyname · 18/11/2019 21:27

Great fun and after 5 mins really quite intuitive.

Can you fall off? I didn’t, daughter didn’t but my OH did. She wasnt concentrating and pulled steering arm as she got off. Nothing broken or bruised!

You just need to step off smartly when its stationary. Easy.

We went round an estate near Windermere, up hills that would have been hard to walk up.

Well worth it. Want to go again.
